At Bjelin you can find a skirting board to match your flooring and interior design. Choose from a wide variety of styles and materials.
Skirting Board Materials
A skirting board from Bjelin is made of high quality including materials like hardwood, pine, MDF and HDF. In our hardwood product range, you can find a skirting board made of oak, ash, cherry, walnut, beech, jatoba, and hard maple. Bjelin also offers veneered skirting boards and even an flexible skirting board that can bend to follow a curved wall.
Skirting Board Functions
A Skirting board conceals the lowest part of an interior wall and the joint between the wall surface and the floor. When a floor is installed floating, a narrow gap is left between the wall and the flooring to allow the flooring to move freely. This gap has to be covered by a skirting board. The skirting board can serve as a decorative molding and also protects the wall from damage from furniture and shoes.
Skirting Board Styles
Skirting Board styles changes with the trends in home decoration. A traditional skirting board from the Victorian or Edwardian era often has a higher and a more elaborate profile and a skirting board in contemporary architecture often has a lower cleaner design. A higher skirting board can be made out of several pieces to create a specific profile.
Wooden skirting board can be available in lacquered or prepainted versions or untreated for staining.
