Can I tape onto the floor surface?

No, you should not apply tape directly onto the floor surface. Many tapes adhere strongly and may even cause wood fibres to pull away when removed. The longer the tape is left on, the greater the risk of damage.

If tape is used on the floor surface, it may damage the finish. In cases where fibres have lifted due to adhesive, the affected plank should be replaced , as surface treatment will only protect the damage from dirt and moisture, not conceal it.
