Not all planks in my pack have the same shade – what should I do?

The natural patterns and colour variations of wood make every floor and every plank unique. Since our floors are made from real wood grown under varying light and environmental conditions, the colour of the timber will vary, creating a natural, vibrant look. In our grading, we aim to make use of as much of the tree as possible, which means natural colour variation is expected. This is typical for wood floors and other natural materials – and part of their charm.

For best results during installation, it is important to sort the planks before installing them, so that colour variation is evenly distributed and creates a balanced overall appearance. Always follow our installation instructions for the best outcome. Open around three packs to gain a good overview and select the planks that work best with the previously laid row.

Natural variation is also influenced by knots and grain patterns, which are clearly visible in the wood surface and give each floor its unique character. To suit different preferences, we offer several grading options, where the number of knots is defined. Natural colour variation occurs across all our grades, but to varying degrees depending on the selection.
