A Croatian castle reborn

Perched above the Adriatic, this 17th-century castle in Slano has witnessed centuries of history, survival and renewal. Built in 1665 by Admiral Ohmućević, it endured devastating damage during the Croatian War of Independence in 1991 and again in the 1996 earthquake. Today, following a meticulous restoration led by Pervanovo, the castle has been brought back to life under strict conservation requirements. Heritage authorities approved the installation of wide XXL Woodura Planks in Shadow Brown across 500 sqm of the castle. Beneath the wine cellar’s vaulted stone ceilings, you'll find bespoke solid oak wine racks by Bjelin, assembled using Välinge’s click technology.
