Bjelin launches Woodura furniture

2026-06-26 | pressrelease

After redefining wood flooring, Bjelin is now bringing the same innovation to furniture, launching a new generation of Scandinavian-designed wood tables. Made from European oak and engineered with proprietary Woodura technology, these collections provide stronger, more durable surfaces that are also more resource-efficient than traditional wood constructions.

”For decades, floors have been the most demanding surfaces in the home – exposed daily to impacts, moisture, movement and constant wear from family life,” says Fredrik Alfredsson, CEO of Bjelin. “Woodura technology was built to meet those demands. Now, we’re bringing that same level of performance to tables.”

The furniture launch includes two distinct dining table and coffee table collections: Harmony and Solace. Harmony draws on the elegance of 1950s and 60s Scandinavian design, combining vintage influences with a clean, contemporary expression. Solace takes a more architectural and minimalist approach, balancing a light floating appearance with exceptional sturdiness and strength.

“We pushed the proportions until they felt just right,” says Bjelin’s Design Team. “As both carpenters and designers, we understand how furniture behaves in real life, and that gives us an edge when it comes to creating something that’s both beautiful and functional.”

Unlike conventional wood surfaces, the ground-breaking Woodura technology combines the natural beauty of oak with enhanced resistance to dents, impacts, stains, heat and water. Built to stay beautiful in everyday use with minimal maintenance, it also enables a more resource-efficient use of raw materials.

“An added benefit of the technology is how efficiently wood is used through the production process,” explains Fredrik Alfredsson. “By slicing rather than sawing the wood, we use just a tenth of the raw material for the tabletops, leaving more trees standing in the forest. We also craft the bases from reclaimed materials to give new life to what would otherwise go to waste.”

All collections are designed and produced in-house using FSC-certified European oak from the Spačva forest, combining Scandinavian design principles with technical precision and expert woodworking. That same thinking runs through Bjelin’s wider philosophy: premium natural materials, efficient production methods and timeless forms designed to last beyond trends.
